Ever wanted to get your foot in the door and start a career in financial services? Well, now’s your chance…

Ever wondered what happens in finance, how you can get into it and what you need to have a great, rewarding career? You could join our ever-growing team at The Verve Group and learn the foundations needed to springboard you into a range of rewarding careers with us, in the finance sector. These include but are not limited to paraplanning, regulation, technical research, investment propositions and more.

learn the foundations

understand financial services

settle into the team

We always start with learning the basics first – it’s the best foundation for success. This involves getting some training on the background of finance and learning all about the billion-pound finance sector and the importance of people receiving sound financial advice.

After some theoretical learning and practice work, you’ll move onto working on real life client cases, getting to grips with the administration that’s involved behind the scenes of any piece of advice, alongside learning the ins and outs of a range of financial products, like pensions, ISAs, and general investments.

Within three months we are confident we can provide you with a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge combined with practical work to provide you with a stepping stone into one of our more technical areas of expertise.

At this point we will reassess your skills and work to that point and align your natural acumen with one of the technical positions available. This may be in paraplanning, compliance or any number of other technical roles available across the business.

You will then spend a further three months in that role, expanding your expertise and cementing your knowledge, for the remainder of your 6-month probationary period.  If you successfully complete your probation, you’ll then be incorporated fully into the team and have access to all of the wonderful benefits this brings!

It’s also at this stage, that we will work with you to agree your own personal development programme for the rest of the year, with the expectation you’ll likely continue your education with financial services specific qualifications (all fully paid for and supported by us!)

The best qualification route for you will very much depend on the technical role that you’ve been allocated after your first 3 months. However, that said, most of our technical roles work towards at least a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning with the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute)

the six exams which make up the diploma are:

R01 - financial services regulation and ethics

R02 - investment principles and risk

R03 - personal taxation

R04 - pensions and retirement planning

R05 - financial protection

R06 - financial planning practice

Together with your line manager, you can explore a whole host of different qualifications with the CII or other industry examining bodies – as part of our commitment to supporting you unleash your full potential!

We won’t lie, we’re firm advocates of the phrase ‘work hard, play hard’ and that we do. Yes, there will definitely be times of hard work (so it’s not for the faint-hearted), but we do reward such hard work for those who truly live and breathe the company values.

upon passing your 6 month probation, you'll have access to a whole host of perks...

A tiered salary structure that's personalised to you - based on your individual role, your qualifications and the experience that you bring to the table.

21 days holiday as standard – plus Bank Holidays, Christmas close down and your birthday off each year (because no one should ever have to work on their birthday!).

The option for hybrid working - giving you up to two days a week from home.

Death in Service Cover – a bit morbid we know, but a nice bit of security nonetheless.

and if that's not enough...
